Best known for their other talents, like acting and modelling, these celebrities are planning their nest eggs by investing in hotels, ready for when they can retire pool side and watch the money roll in.
LEONARDO DICAPRIO: BLACKADORE CAYE BELIZE
Leonardo DiCaprio’s much anticipated property is set to open in Belize this year, after reports that the actor purchased the entire island of Blackadore Cave alongside hotelier Jeff Gram for a whopping $1.75 million dollars. Leonardo DiCaprio’s foray into hotels is an ambitious one, set to result a luxury, eco-friendly resort, attracting actors and the society’s elite.

ROBERT DE NIRO: MULTIPLE PROPERTIES
If Robert De Niro wasn’t an actor, he most likely would have still made a fortune being a hotelier. Best known for the iconic New York The Greenwich Hotel that includes Tribeca eatery Locanda Verde and the luxury Shibui Spa, De Niro’s foray into hotels has already been a successful one. His other properties such as the Nobu Hotel in Manila, which De Niro co-owns, haven’t seen as much success, with Nobu recently rated as the world’s worst. De Niro also co-founded Nobu Hospitality Group, alongside renowned chef Nobu Matsuhisa, which includes 32 restaurants and nine hotels.
MICHAEL DOUGLAS & CATHERINE ZETA JONES: ARIEL SANDS
Hollywood power couple Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta Jones co-own the Ariel Sands Resort in Bermuda. The Ariel Sands Resort is currently being refurbished with its reopening set this year, featuring beachside cottages as well as a fresh water pool, direct beach access, a salon and spa. Touted as a glamourous yet low key resort, it will be dedicated to being eco-friendly through the use of green energy.
