WHAT LIES BENEATH

Deep dive into the great depths of the ocean with the highlights from the Underwater Photographer of the Year competition. The International competition celebrates the best underwater photography from around the globe, perfectly capturing what lies beneath the ocean’s surface.

The overall winner of the 2017 competition was French photographer Gabriel Barathieu with his stunning image of the ‘Dancing Octopus’. The competition also encourages new and emerging talent, with photographers from 67 different countries entering and over 2500 images submitted.
