If you’re a lover of travel, sometimes you can forget to appreciate your own backyard. Caught amongst the thrill of visiting new destinations, your home town can sometimes seem a little unimpressive, somewhat boring and monotonous.

I’ll be the first to admit the thrill of afar has left sometimes left me blindsided, unable to see the beauty that lies right before my eyes. I’m lucky enough to live in Sydney, Australia and up until recently I certainly took my own residence for granted.

Recently my job forced me to take a break from travelling (how dare they), so I decided to be a tourist in my own hometown. Here’s what I found.


Sunrise: Bondi to Bronte Walk

Beach: Gordon’s Bay

Cheap Eats: iPoh, Miss Chu
Fish and Chips: The Fish Shop
Pasta: A.P.E, Chester White, Buffalo
Fine Dining: Bentley, Monopole, Sake
Sunset Cocktail: Opera Bar
Day Out: Manly
